Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited school of Nursing with a minimum of Associate Degree
- Active Florida Licensed Practical Nurse
- Experience working in mental / behavioral health, substance abuse setting required
- 1+ year at an internship in related field
- Current CPR Certification
- Proof of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training or obtained
- KIPU knowledge preferred
Essential Job Function of the Licensed Practical Nurse
Pre-screens new patients for appropriateness for admissions based on physical assessment date, health history and daily assessmentsExcels at performing vigilant observationScreens for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication and withdrawal symptomsExecutes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications in accordance with procedures established by the Medical Doctor and Director of NursingRecords required documentation in electronic medical record accurately and timely.Specializes in the provision of pain management treatment through the initial process of detoxificationAdheres to HIPAA regulations protects confidential patient informationCompletes charts in a timely manner, obtaining Registered Nurses' signature as neededMay be required to perform other duties, or work at other FHE locations as requiredEssential Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Previous work with substance use disorders preferredknowledge of addiction and recovery preferredIV & Phlebotomy proficient preferredKnowledge of drug classifications and respective medication protocolKnowledge of CARF, DCF, and Joint Commission Standards, preferredKnowledge of infection control and risk management
