As an Independent Living Social Service Advocate, supporting the Garden Spot Communities' mission will include the following responsibilities :
Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices including the Compliance Program / Code of Conduct.Treats all information about residents, their condition and family as confidential information.Serves in a problem-solving capacity, as an advocate for residents. Provides accurate assessments and intervene with effective treatment plans that empowers residents' coping skills.Maintains a written record of the frequency and nature of any qualified social work consultations and services provided or obtained.Assists the Marketing Department with pre-entrance level of care / independence assessments as needed.Orients new residents to Garden Spot Village services and assists in their adjustment to the routines and schedules. Assists Life Enrichment with Village Life Orientation.Maintains a positive working relationship with the Social Service Departments of local hospitals, physician's groups and other retirement communities.What do I need for this role with Garden Spot?
College graduate with a minimum of a BA from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Experience with geriatrics is preferred.Fundamental knowledge of social service programs available to the elderly is a benefit to have and / or willingness to be trained in specific programs utilized in the department.Ability and desire to work with the elderly; ability to build relationships.How is Garden Spot unique?
