Job Title : Molding Manufacturing Engineer
Location : Libertyville, IL – Onsite

Position Overview : Seeking a senior Molding Manufacturing Engineer with strong expertise in troubleshooting mold issues, supporting injection molding operations, optimizing cycle times, reducing scrap and set-up times, and performing validations related to materials, presses, and molds. Travel to Europe may be required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Establish robust process windows for all injection molded components using Scientific Molding techniques and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Troubleshoot molding / manufacturing processes to mitigate production defects.
- Support FAT and SAT activities.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, equipment layout, and workflow for efficiency.
- Conduct process validation and optimization activities, including DOE studies, process capability analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Create and maintain process documentation such as work instructions, set-up instructions, and specifications.
- Design new manufacturing equipment and processes; write equipment specifications and define maintenance requirements.
- Perform technical writing, including procedures, URS, risk assessments, safety assessments, and functionality tests.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on continuous improvement and corrective / preventive action plans.
- Participate in PFMEA and control plan development for new products.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Examine and design workspace and equipment layouts for maximum efficiency.
- Communicate with production teams and customers regarding product design, tooling, and production capabilities.
Qualifications :
5+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding.Strong knowledge of injection molding presses (hydraulic and electric), molds, mold design, and related processing equipment (hoppers / loaders, blenders, dryers, sprue pickers, hot runner systems, etc.).Experience with common molding grade plastics such as Polypropylene, Polycarbonate, ABS, Nylon, etc.RJG Master Molder Certification or equivalent preferred.EOAT (End of Arm Tooling), six-axis robot, and programming experience preferred.
