About the Role
We’re hiring a Senior Comptroller to join our financial leadership team and serve as the successor to our retiring CFO. This is a critical role with a clear succession path, ideal for a hands-on, high-performing financial leader with a strong background in property management accounting and a passion for disciplined growth. The right candidate will be a strategic operator who can own core accounting functions today and help lead the finance organization of tomorrow.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee financial operations for a portfolio of multifamily and commercial assets
- Lead monthly financial statement reviews and ensure accuracy of pre- / post-close reporting
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and mortgage tie-outs
- Oversee bank activity including wires, transfers, and ACH management
- Collaborate on investor reporting, tax documentation, and distribution calculations
- Coordinate with third-party CPAs on tax filings, K-1s, and investor info accuracy
- Support acquisition and disposition processes from a financial compliance standpoint
- Maintain investor funding logs, capital activity, and performance reporting
- Assist in documentation for legal, Blue Sky filings, and ownership assignments
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes for scalability
- Provide analytical support to executive and investment teams
- Help lead the transition of CFO responsibilities over the next 12 months
- Integrate HRIS systems and operations, Manage payroll for 10-50 associates
- Work side by side with leadership to develop and implement new systems for accounting
Requirements
What You’ll Bring (Required)
7+ years of accounting experience, including senior-level real estate or property management accountingDeep knowledge of GAAP and U.S. accounting standardsStrong financial systems proficiency; comfortable with multiple software platformsMeticulous attention to detail and proven ability to manage complex transactionsStrong communication skills and collaborative spiritExperience working cross-functionally with legal, operations, and investor relationsBonus Points

Target Compensation : $90,000–$140,000, depending on experience and qualifications
