Land Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Land Development Manager to join our growing team and lead the development of built-to-rent communities from pre-construction through project completion. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of horizontal development and infrastructure delivery for single-family rental neighborhoods across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end land development process for BTR communities, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
  • Oversee consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of sitework, utilities, paving, and amenity infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with acquisition, entitlement, construction, and property management teams to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Monitor development progress against key milestones and budgets, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Secure all necessary permits, inspections, and regulatory approvals in collaboration with city, county, and utility agencies.
  • Manage bid processes and negotiate contracts for land development-related scopes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular site visits, including local travel up to 23 hours each way as needed to monitor construction progress and meet with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in land development, preferably with single-family, multifamily, or BFR communities.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction, sitework, utility installation, grading, drainage, and related scopes.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and development timelines across multiple projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, plats, and construction documents.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be willing and able to travel locally (23 hours each way) to project sites as needed.
