The ASC Director of Nursing coordinates the daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), ensuring that the center meets the procedural needs of the practice.
This role includes overseeing adequate staffing, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Compensation :
- $85,000 - $95,000 annually Location : West Des Moines, IA Schedule : Full-Time - Monday-Friday 8 am-4 : 30 pm (hours may vary) The Director of Nursing oversees all aspects of ASC operations, including : Incidents & Grievances : Review complaints and utilize root-cause-analysis process.
- Initiate Quality Assurance Process Improvement (QAPI) studies for trending root-cause-analysis issues.
Staff Training & Education :
Ensure staff (clinical and non-clinical) maintain licensure, competency, and compliance with regulatory standards.Implement and oversee orientation, job-based training, annual competencies, and ongoing professional development.Identify areas needing reinforcement and provide education, consultation, or practicum as needed.Network with internal and external resources to continuously improve operational knowledge, skills, and abilities.Culture :
Promote positive customer relations among employees and physicians. Maintain a healthy, collaborative team environment. Champion and assist in completing employee and physician satisfaction surveys.Safety, Compliance & Quality :
Develop and enforce policies for Life Safety, Radiation Safety, and Infection Control in compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.Provide in-services and educational opportunities on safety and infection control for staff.Monitor, enforce, and oversee compliance with established safety and infection control policies.Conduct safety and radiation drills, inspections, and audits as required.Ensure maintenance and availability of safety equipment, radiation badges, and protective gear; oversee recordkeeping and regulatory logs.Appropriately delegate safety, radiation, and infection control tasks while ensuring accountability and effective results.Actively participate in safety and infection control meetings; remain current on evolving standards and regulations.Oversee completion and submission of daily, quarterly, and annual QAPI reports and related documentation as directed.Additional Responsibilities :
Check work email regularly throughout the day. Ensures overall compliance with CMS ASC SOM and Joint Commission regulations. Participate in and complete all required training and in-services. Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities :
Oversee all staff assigned to the ASC entity.Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) years of clinical experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and / or experience (senior-level experience may substitute).Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; Infection Preventionist certification preferred.Must complete all regulatory competencies prior to beginning work in the ASC.Proficiency in using computers, accounting software, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Skills & Competencies :
