Mill Creek Residential Accounts Payable Associate

At Mill Creek Residential Trust, the Accounts Payable Associate's primary responsibility is processing incoming invoices in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for maintaining accounts payable logs as well as other accounting duties.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Review and retrieve invoices submitted weekly via imaging system by regional offices.
• Input overhead, construction and sub-contract invoices in accounts payable system.
• Issue checks for all regional offices and construction jobs.
• Set up contracts, change orders and insurance updates in the accounting software.
• Work closely with the head accountant or supervisor who manages the cash flow activities to prioritize what bills to pay, and when.
• Maintain files on existing vendors, entering new ones into the system, generating yearly 1099 tax documents and keeping files of vendors' IRS W-9 forms that list their tax identification numbers.
• Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience

Skills / Specialized Knowledge

Multi-family real estate industry experience with an emphasis in construction, preferred.
