Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is a private radiology practice composed of over 100 radiologists serving 10 hospitals across Colorado. We also provide diagnostic services for more than 40 locations throughout Colorado and Hawaii. RIA is committed to delivering the highest quality specialty-based diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, and associated medical care. We operate Invision Sally Jobe (ISJ), a network of 11 outpatient imaging centers located throughout South Denver, offering a wide range of exams using state-of-the-art equipment.

Summary of Position :
RIA is seeking a hands-on, experienced Controller to lead and develop our Accounting team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to refine processes, strengthen systems, and collaborate across departments to enhance organizational performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, demonstrated leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring others in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Primary Responsibilities :
Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, intercompany transactions, and treasury management.Manage complex bi-weekly payroll processes, including physician compensation and benefit reconciliations.Ensure timely and accurate monthly general ledger close, including review of journal entries and reconciliations.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.Cultivate a collaborative, high-performing accounting team through hands-on leadership and mentorship.Communicate regularly with executive leadership and the managing board regarding financial results, key trends, and strategic insights.Manage shareholder valuations, distributions, and buy / sell activities.Monitor cash flow, manage daily balances, and prepare rolling forecasts.Research and resolve technical accounting issues as they arise.Collaborate with the finance team on analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.Coordinate with the revenue cycle team on accounts receivable and revenue accounting.Manage annual external financial and retirement plan audits.Oversee annual insurance renewals.Support financial reporting and ad hoc analysis requests from the CFO and other stakeholders.Partner with operational and business leaders on accounting-related matters.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations (payroll, property, sales / use).Optimize accounting software (primarily Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and lead system enhancements or technology implementations.Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.Set and achieve short- and long-term departmental goals.Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities :
Design and maintain an effective organizational structure to meet departmental and organizational goals.Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance management for accounting staff.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Experience / Skill Requirements :
Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experienceAt least 5 years in a Controller role managing teams of similar sizeExperience managing payrollPublic accounting experience preferredHealthcare industry experience preferredProficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferredAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsProven ability to communicate clearly and confidently with executive leadership and the board.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentEducation Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA preferredBase salary is between $125,000 and $175,000 annually. This position is bonus eligible.
In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is Radiology Imaging Associate's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position will receive applications on an ongoing basis, and will remain open until filled.
