Shipment Management Associate II

As part of the Ryder team, the Shipment Management Associate II will handle a variety of tasks. Essential functions include managing supply and demand for bulk truck movements, working directly with multiple customer contacts and third-party vendors within the overall supply chain, reviewing and fulfilling open orders movements both outbound and inbound, generating and distributing Bulk Truck Rack Schedule Requests for Beaumont and South Coast Terminal, inventory management of railcars within South Coast Terminal to meet loading requirements, generating documents for upcoming Bulk Truck Shipments via SAP or Microsoft Access Data Base, managing SAP Inventory transactions for loaded Bulk Truck Shipments, general daily reporting and distribution as required by business unit, working directly to support customers' logistics needs and special requirements, expediting high priority shipments, executing goods issue and material movement for truckload activity, ability to represent the company with external constituents, representing Ryder Shipment Management Services in a professional manner to internal and external parties, ability to build strong customer relationships, demonstrated customer service capabilities, direct customer interface (internal / external) on all customer related issues, effective leadership skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, demonstrates problem solving skills, ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors), flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment, capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills, detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices, will train or know SAP, create power points / Excel spreadsheets / Microsoft systems PC knowledge.

Additional responsibilities may include supporting the client after hours, such as nights, weekends, and / or holidays via cell phone rotation and remote equipment, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a high school diploma / GED required, bachelor's degree preferred in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field, two (2) years or more direct Transportation or Logistics work experience required.
