Summary
The Plant Controller will report directly to the Plant Manager and serve as a key financial leader within the facility. This role is responsible for cost accounting, FP&A, month-end close, and P&L ownership, with a strong focus on ERP systems and process improvement. The Plant Controller is expected to be highly analytical, energetic, and hands-on, driving plant performance while ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
This is a forward-facing leadership role requiring strong business acumen, manufacturing finance experience, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and supply chain. The successful candidate will be driven, stable in tenure, and ready to make an immediate impact as a trusted financial leader.
Responsibilities
Direct the daily activities of General & Cost Accounting personnel in accordance with company policy.Lead and train plant controlling teams on procedures, policies, and tools.Own P&L reporting, month-end close, and financial forecasting processes.Provide timely and accurate financial analysis to plant and senior management.Develop, monitor, and analyze financial plans, forecasts, and projections.Oversee internal controls for payroll, accounts payable, cash, and inventory.Coordinate audits (internal and external) and ensure compliance with SOX and corporate standards.Lead and audit physical inventories, analyze variances, and maintain the capital asset system.Standardize controlling processes across the Industrial group for efficiency.Evaluate and influence capital expenditures with accurate business case analysis.Translate financial data into actionable insights for operational leaders.Engage with plant operations to strengthen partnerships and ensure financial discipline.Coach and mentor accounting and finance staff to build future leadership capability.Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.7+ years of finance experience.Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).Preferred :
Plant Controller experience in a manufacturing facility with $150M+ annual revenue.5+ years of supervisory experience managing financial and operational teams.Strong cost accounting background (multi-level routing and BOM cost accounting).Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.ERP systems expertise (Oracle, Hyperion, or similar).MBA, CPA, or CMA certification preferred.Demonstrated success in FP&A, forecasting, and P&L ownership.Stable career history with proven leadership impact.EEO Statement
