Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate workflow improvements and processes related to quality improvement initiatives (e.g., PQRS and Meaningful Use) in collaboration with IPM Leadership, providers, IT and interdisciplinary workgroups.
  • Audit, review and validate financial compensation / outcomes related to government regulations, payor requirements and compliance mandates.
  • Attend and actively participate in training sessions deemed appropriate.
  • Understand system setup, structure, and the rationale behind the system build to support optimal use.
  • Assist with design suggestions and testing activities for the system as needed.
  • Participate in the development of administrative and clinical policies and procedures regarding the EPM / EHR system, Meaningful Use and PQRS initiatives.
  • Document issues and collaborate with IT, system vendors and others to resolve them quickly.
  • Monitor end-user performance, document issues / deficiencies, report on key measures and drive incremental performance improvements.
  • Maintain knowledge of internal policies, procedures and workflows; respond to end-user questions accurately and timely.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and analytical skills (staffing, forecasting models, KPIs, benchmarking, variance analysis).
  • Optimize clinical and administrative workflow using operational and financial metrics to support quality improvement programs.
  • Create, analyze and present statistical information pertaining to EMR operations and utilization; generate reports and analyze data on measurable indicators.
  • Communicate findings as needed and work effectively in a team with multiple priorities; maintain attention to detail in a fast-changing environment.
  • Understand clinical operations, workflows, provider documentation guidelines and coding at a general level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or clinical-related field required. Commensurate work experience may be considered.
  • Experience and / or training in computer applications; knowledge of health care administration systems.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements for physician practice operations, PQRS and Meaningful Use; experience with medical practice computer systems and applications.
  • Skills in planning, organizing, supervising and in communicating effectively with physicians, administrative staff, internal customers and external agencies.
  • Ability to develop reports, analyze and interpret complex data, and prepare comprehensive reports; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete goals through project / team management.
