Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a home health position requiring at least 1 year of home health experience and active BLS certification.
Responsibilities
Home health setting serving adult patients in Sarasota and Charlotte CountyDay shift, Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PMCaseload includes med / surg, cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, and rehab patientsVisits are self-scheduled with a minimum of 6 home visits per day, may increase based on manager discretionUse of laptops, MiFi for internet, and portable printers providedDocumentation via BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet systemsPatients include those with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, trauma, Parkinson’s, and amputation care needsResponsibilities include performing assessments, creating home exercise programs, patient and family education, cardiac rehab, joint mobilization, splinting, use of modalities such as TENS and ultrasound, and adult ADL trainingFocus on safety, injury prevention, and patient progress documentationTeam support includes coordination with other clinicians and office staffVisitors may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliated facilities if neededReturn travelers must have a one-year gap from permanent employment before being eligibleNo RTO requests accepted with the contract; all time off must be arranged directly with the unit managerSolid color scrubs requiredFacility is smoke-freeMandatory pre-start compliance modules (average of 4 hours)Pass / fail EKG exam required prior to start, with up to 3 attempts permittedRequirements
Active state OT license or compact license required at time of considerationCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum 1 year of recent home health OT experience; 2 years preferredMust be able to practice independentlyValid driver’s license and reliable car required for home visitsOASIS training preferredExperience with Cerner charting preferredMust be COVID vaccinated or possess approved exemptionFlu vaccination or signed declination and adherence to masking policy requiredMust reside at least 100 miles from the facilityBenefits
