Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer - Metal AM

POSITION SNAPSHOT : Our client is seeking to add an experienced Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer to their team. In this role, you'll lead the charge in optimizing metal 3D printing using powder bed fusion systems like EOS and SLM. You'll be responsible for everything from commissioning equipment and developing precise process flows to implementing statistical process control and conducting post-print hardware reviews. This role combines hands-on engineering, process ownership, and technician training to ensure production rates, quality standards, and machine uptime are consistently met. You'll write SOPs, safety protocols, and work instructions while investigating process deviations and defects, guiding continuous improvement efforts, and collaborating with engineering to refine AM build strategies. Ideal candidates will bring a BS in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or 4+ years in metal AM, with experience working in ISO AS9100 / 9000 environments. Have recent experience in a practical setting optimizing process parameters (laser, gas flow, thermal, powder spreading, etc.) A strong attention to detail, flexibility to work weekends, and U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain SECRET Security Clearance are essential for success in this fast-paced, high-impact position.
