Systems Administrator / Application Administrator job in Western, NY :
Contract to Hire Role. This individual will need to be within driving distance of Rochester, NY and available as needed onsite.

Hourly Pay Rate Range : $45.00 - 55.00 per hour based on experience, education, geographic location and other factors.
Responsibilities
- Understand application, database, server or security requirements and translates technical or systems specifications for implementation.
- Completes assigned application administration deliverables and leads teams in the completion of their assigned deliverables, including the configuration of applications, database, server or security settings and features.
- Develops technical documentation to be used by application administration development or support teams.
- Leads and / or actively participates in testing of newly developed applications, integrations, systems, solutions and upgrades of applications or application support tools.
- Leads and / or works closely with technical resources, and in some cases functional / business analysts, to prepare test plans, test data and complete integrated testing.
- Actively participates in smaller systems projects or enhancements, ensuring delivery of assigned application administration tasks in alignment with project plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with interface, networking, design, and relational database technologies preferredExperience with Wintel based products and hardwareExperience with authentication and authorization methods such as Shibboleth, LDAP and Active Directory preferredExperience supporting Cloud and on premises applications preferredExperience with multi-tier applications employing application and web servers preferredExperience with project management from planning through implementation preferredExcellent verbal and written communications skills requiredAbility to work both independently and as part of a team requiredAbility to participate in on-call rotations requiredAbility to learn new technologies quickly and help team members embrace technology change preferredProven track record executing multiple work streams and producing consistent results preferredStrong understanding of system / application administration activities preferredOracle, MySQL, MS SQL or related database experience preferredSolid understanding of Web Server, App Server and / or Database interactivities preferredSolid understanding of application infrastructure and architecture preferredContact
