Description
STATEMENT OF JOB :
The Lead Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service. The Lead Server is also responsible for supervising the daily assignments of the servers, ensuring proper training, as well as ensuring proper coverage to meet the business needs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Policies / Procedures / Administration
- Maintain a good working knowledge of all dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures
- Understands basic kitchen equipment operation (food processor, dishwasher, beverage machine, etc.)
- Maintain a clean work area in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room
- Understands proper table setting for each meal
- Maintains schedule for the servers to include call outs and coverage for all assigned shifts.
- Maintain daily assignments for the servers
- Assists with the interviewing and hiring process of applicants for server positions
- Conducts training for all new and current servers
- Maintains the daily food orders
- Required to post new menus daily / weekly
- Oversees seating and timing of meals and dining experience
- Oversees the process and set up for special events
Residents :
Assists residents when placing orders from the menu and the completion of take-out ordersProvide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee / tea)Refill salt / pepper / sugar bowls prior to and after each mealReport any broken equipment or tableware to supervisorUnderstands sit-down service and proper serving techniquesHas a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniquesSweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining roomAttends required in-services and staff meetingsMust be attentive to special needs of residents including : mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.)Assists with tray serviceFollows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident and associate informationInteracts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisorsResolves complaintsCompletes all other duties assignedQualifications
Must have a High School Diploma or GEDMust secure and maintain Serv-Safe certificationMust be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygieneMust be able to read and follow simple instructionsMust possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasksMust be able to learn quickly and apply learned principlesMust be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervisionMust be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objectsMust be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a timeMust be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feetMust be organized and willing to work well with other associates.Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidaysJ-18808-Ljbffr
