Matrix Plastic Products is seeking a hands-on, motivated, and experienced Apprentice Mold Maker to join our injection molding team. This position assists experienced mold makers in fabricating, repairing, and maintaining molds and mold components used in manufacturing processes. The apprentice will learn and perform essential tasks related to mold making, ensuring molds meet required specifications and quality standards through maintenance and repair.
Requirements :
Responsibilities will include manufacturing mold components utilizing various shop equipment and mold maintenance / repair. Looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience :
- Mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail
- Communicates and works well with others
- Self-starter who can work independently
- Ability to operate shop equipment (Vertical mills and surface grinders) a plus
- Knowledge of plastic injection molds a plus

Participate in the repair and maintenance of existing molds, identifying and rectifying defects to ensure proper functionalityFrequently move materials and mold components weighing up to 50 pounds across the manufacturing floor and work areas for various needsConstantly operates hand and power tools to prepare, inspect, and position mold materials and componentsOccasionally position self to work on molds at various heights and in confined spacesHave the ability to communicate information and ideas to supervisors and colleagues regarding the progress and any issues related to mold making. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situationsHave the ability to observe details at close range to inspect mold components for accuracy and defectsDetect and identify any deviations from specifications during the mold-making processAdheres to all safety procedures and guidelines in the performance of dutiesMaintains a clean and organized work areaAdditional Information :
