Pediatric - Critical Care Medicine Physician

Pediatric Intensivist opportunity in Des Moines, IA About the Job : Full-time Seeking a Pediatric Intensivist to join our team at the Children's Hospital in Des Moines, IA. In this role you will join a well-established, multidisciplinary team consisting of 4 other Pediatric Intensivists, pediatric residents, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, dietitians, child life and more. The Health Provider team comprises 150 pediatric providers spanning 20 subspecialties to provide care for patients throughout the state of Iowa. An 88-bed facility, with the PICU being a 12 bed unit, embeded within the core of the hospital close to the Pediatric ER, Adult ICU and surgery. Serves as the only Pediatric Level II Trauma Center in the state and is home to a Level III NICU complete with a Pediatric Transport Team, Neonatal Transport Team and in-house transfer center. The Emergency Department staffs Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians and sees roughly 27,000 patients annually. Attendings support an ACGME accredited Pediatric Residency Program, which is one of seven residency programs supporting approximately 100 resident physicians each academic year.
