The Opportunity :
We are searching for a skilled Knowledge Management Specialist (Management Analyst 3) to research, design, create and maintain role-based content for a centralized Knowledge Management System (KMS).
Development of a KMS is part of the agency's CORE Pension System Modernization Project, a multi-year effort to replace an aging mission-critical DRS system with a cloud-based solution. During the project, you will collaborate closely with the project team, business owners, and team members to capture complex business knowledge, processes, and procedures that are currently decentralized across a variety of applications, tools, and documents.
Following project implementation, you will contribute to the development of a comprehensive content evaluation approach to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of knowledge management content.
Responsibilities :
- Researching complex business process and procedure information and evaluating the pre- and post-conditions and business context.
- Determining the best way to write business procedures for each audience and modality, ensuring conformance to style guidelines for all content types.
- Participating in collaborative content development sessions; facilitating content review with business owners and team members to ensure operational needs are met.
- Writing and proofreading knowledge management content, ensuring the accurate representation of business and customer needs.
- Enhancing knowledge management materials through the strategic use of visuals, graphics, lists, video, etc., to improve accessibility and increase comprehension.
- Shepherding content through the content authoring cycle, establishing deliverable dates, scheduling working sessions, and maintaining active communication.
- Establishing and maintaining regular two-way communication with business owners, team members, and the project team.
- Providing writing, editing, and design support to other content authors to ensure consistent quality, and alignment with agency standards.
- Publishing approved training content packages (text, media, hyperlinks) in approved modalities.
- Contributing to the management of training and knowledge management repositories and governance activities to promote standardization and clarity.
- Designing evaluation strategies, evaluating user feedback and content metrics, and recommending and implementing enhancements / changes to improve effectiveness.
Requirements :
Proven experience performing technical writing responsibilities, including technical communications, research, productivity tools, and content management systems.Proven experience in identifying problems, analyzing business, management or technology needs to facilitate change in organizations business, management, or technology services.Demonstrated experience in planning, supporting, or implementing business process improvement or organizational change efforts.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent critical thinking skills.Demonstrated ability to create and / or interpret complex business process maps.Demonstrated ability to clearly explain complex ideas.Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint (version 2016 or newer).What we're looking for : A highly motivated and experienced Knowledge Management Specialist to join our team.
