SSI is seeking a Senior Systems DevSecOps Engineer to support development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions in Albuquerque, NM. The candidate must possess technical expertise and experience with developing, designing, building, and integrating space system software to include in the space vehicle and ground systems to meet overall mission requirements. In this position, you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the program.
You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the program's success. Engineering responsibilities span technology domains, including space-rated hardware, software, sensors, and processors in an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment. This SETA candidate will assist the government PM and Lead SW Engineer to integrate security practices seamlessly into the software development lifecycle (SDLC), working closely with development and operations teams to develop security checks, review vulnerability assessments, and assess likelihood and mitigation of security threats for a delivered system, integrating cybersecurity practices throughout the software development lifecycle while maintaining the agility of DevOps practices. You must apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.
Role and Responsibilities :
Assist the government Program Manager and lead SW Engineer with the software development lifecycle
Develop requirements for and ensure delivery of Security integration into CI / CD pipeline, Code Review and Security Analysis, Infrastructure Security, Threat Modeling and Risk Assessment, and Vulnerability Management
Ensures completion of tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints
Provides input to the government customer concerning risks to performance, schedule, and budget due to either proposed contractor plans or the contractor's execution of accepted plans
Ensure the quality of the program, project, or task deliverables meets or exceeds standards or metrics, and assess such deliverables to ensure that the final deliverables will meet the warfighting purpose for which they are intended
Plans and performs engineering research, design development, and other engineering assignments in conformance with the design, engineering, and customer specifications
Responsible for the overall technical / engineering portions of major projects or programs to include the DevSecOps process
Mentor and build expertise in DevSecOps principles, practices, and tools
Coordinates with multiple partners / agencies to ensure system engineering communities support delivery milestones
Tracks and advises design trades and associated cost, schedule, and technical impacts to requirements
Supports design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex discipline-specific testing
Translate complex ideas and data into simple, actionable recommendations or easily differentiated courses of action
Communicate, concisely, and with technical accuracyoral and written
