We value our incredible Certified Nursing Assistants and want to ensure they practice at the top of their license to better optimize their skills and experience. We've also developed a career path framework for CNAs that clarifies paths to move, develop and advance CNA careers into nursing and other roles. The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following :

• Six months previous CNA experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Basic computer skills
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• High School diploma or GED required
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
• State registered CNA license required
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1 holds

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and / or up to 20lbs frequently, and / or up to 10lbs constantly)

At Penrose Hospital, an established Magnet hospital, the Orthopedic Surgical Unit has 24 rooms and 26 beds. Our specialty is ortho, trauma and neurosurgery. We care for elective orthopedic patients receiving knee, hip, and shoulder replacements as well as orthopedic trauma patients. We also see some neurosurgery cases that are mostly subdural bleeds and spinal surgeries. If surgical volume is low, we also see some medical patients. Our mission is to provide care with the Golden Rule as the guiding principle. The department would be a good fit for someone who enjoys a fun working environment but can also work hard. Our unit can be very busy.

Pay Range

$18.00 - $25.25 / hour
