Responsibilities Position is in an acute pediatric unit caring for patients from birth to 18 years with occasional adult overflow Care provided includes medical, orthopedic, surgical, oncology, behavioral health, and rehab cases Unit performs procedures such as spinal taps, bone marrows, I&D, complex dressing changes, transfusions, IVs, and NG tube insertions Unit uses Epic EMR and a scanning medicine system 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required Floating required to NICU and Pediatric Acute Rehab Unit as needed Nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4 on days / evenings and 4-5 on nights depending on acuity 4-bed unit with overflow capacity Responsibilities include assisting physicians with specialized pediatric procedures Three days of unit-specific training and orientation provided Children’s hospital is a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Navy blue or child-friendly scrub tops are required; gray, white, or navy t-shirts under scrubs are permitted Travelers will not work alone and receive support from the team Holiday coverage is mandatory Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local and offered a different rate All previous Sanford Health employees must disclose prior employment for eligibility Requirements Active ND or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience on a general floor or higher level of care Current BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications Experience and willingness to provide care for occasional adult overflow patients Must be able to float to NICU and provide NICU skills checklist with application Cannot reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620120.
