Description :

The Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse establishes satisfactory interpersonal relationships with co-workers and patients, families, and significant others.

Initiates communication with patients and families to determine individual needs.

Initiates communication with co-workers and colleagues to share and exchange ideas and information about related activities.

Provides detailed patient education to patients and family members during inpatient stays and at the time of discharge.

Responds effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, to communications from patients, families, and colleagues.

Demonstrates sensitivity to the values of self and others in decision-making.

Involves patients and families in the plan of care, incorporating their cultural, spiritual, and other belief systems.

Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and bending, with potential for some repetitive motions.

Bachelor's degree required, and a master's degree in nursing is preferred.

Ability to prioritize and problem-solve in collaboration with the healthcare team.
