THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled industrial electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. The industrial electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility by diagnosing electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and implementing electrical upgrades.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components, including wiring, conduits, motors, transformers, and circuit breakers
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards
- Troubleshoot electrical problems, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and enhance productivity
- Plan and execute electrical system upgrades and modifications to improve facility performance and efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to design and implement new electrical installations and control systems
- Ensure all electrical modifications comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents and injuries
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies
- Stay current with industry regulations, codes, and best practices to maintain compliance and improve operational safety
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on electrical system performance, maintenance activities, and any safety incidents or violations
- Communicate effectively with management, engineering, and maintenance teams regarding electrical issues and resolutions
- Operate and maintain a variety of electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging cameras
- Provide training and guidance to junior electricians and maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices
- Assist in the development and implementation of electrical training programs for new employees and ongoing staff development
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required; completion of a formal apprenticeship program or technical training in electrical systems is preferredValid journeyman or master electrician license in CaliforniaAdditional certifications in specialized electrical systems or equipment are a plusMinimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environmentExperience with Arc Flash ProtectionProven experience with PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on troubleshooting and preventive maintenanceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsFamiliarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant safety standardsWillingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as requiredTRAINING TRAVEL
Ability to travel out of state for temporary training.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS
Environmental conditions - Must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May at times be exposed to dangerous and / or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infectionMental demands- Conditions that may lead to mental or emotional fatigueOccasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling 25 to 50 poundsClimb on and around equipment and sit for long periods while operating equipmentWalk and stand for long periods of timeAble to climb a minimum of 2 story of stairsMust pass drug screen and physical.
