Job Overview

Join our team as a DME Service Liaison, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the right equipment, education, and support—both in the hospital and at home.

In this role, you'll be the friendly face and technical expert guiding patients through their Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience. You'll combine hands-on care with problem-solving, ensuring every interaction delivers comfort, confidence, and exceptional service.

  • DME services are seamlessly integrated into clinical and business operations
  • Every patient and partner feels supported and informed at each step

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a medical background—such as CNAs, Medical Assistants, or others familiar with patient care and medical documentation.

The ability to read and interpret medical records is extremely valuable in supporting our patients' needs and ensuring accuracy in equipment setup and care coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate DME care protocols and set-ups for Fairview Health Service patients.
  • Implement and manage inventory control processes with vendors and Fairview support services to ensure timely, accurate care delivery.
  • Maintain and track inventory while managing costs within departmental budgets.
  • Set up and fit patients with their equipment needs, ensuring proper use and comfort.
  • Provide clear, compassionate education on product information, usage, and maintenance.
  • Configure and customize DME equipment and accessories for each patient.
  • Manage data and processes related to equipment and DME compliance.
  • Collaborate with care teams to ensure timely, accurate communication and follow-through.
  • Supply compliance information and documentation to providers promptly.
  • Facilitate smooth claims processing for all DME-related care plans.
  • Support operational and service delivery needs to enhance care efficiency.
  • Partner on quality improvement initiatives and represent the team in community education events.
  • Serve as a technical expert in developing new DME-related services.
  • Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year fitting patients with DME
  • Active Minnesota Basic Life Support certification (or willing to obtain within 2 months from hire date)
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Post High School education in a healthcare related field
  • 1+ years working with oxygen patients in DME field
