Custodial Supervisor
Location : Sioux City U.S. Federal Courthouse, 320 6th Street Sioux City, IA 51101
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a Custodial Supervisor to oversee day-to-day custodial operations at a large federal facility in Sioux City . The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, a passion for quality, and proven experience managing custodial teams in high-traffic, professional environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of custodial staff to ensure all work is completed on schedule and to high standards.
- Oversee cleaning and disinfection of restrooms, offices, lobbies, conference rooms, corridors, and other assigned areas.
- Ensure high-touch surfaces and common areas are disinfected regularly for health and safety.
- Maintain and manage custodial supply inventory; order and restock materials as needed.
- Inspect areas to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Train, coach, and evaluate custodial staff; ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with staff, vendors, and visitors.
Qualifications
Experience : 3-5 years of custodial or janitorial experience, including 1-2 years in a supervisory role.Facility Size : Experience managing services in large buildings (290,000+ sq. ft. or similar).Skills :Strong knowledge of cleaning / disinfection methods and Green Cleaning standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks.Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.Education : High school diploma or equivalent (Custodial Management Certification is a plus).Requirements
