Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Occupational Summary : The Principal Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on numerous products / projects with significant scope and / or developing various forms of technologies.
Requirements : Education :
Bachelor's degree in engineering in a field related to the specific job,
- Master's Degree a field related to the specific job strongly preferred
- Note : while the advanced degree is not listed as an absolute requirement for this position, there may be cases where due to the nature and scope of the role, this does become a solid requirement.
Experience :
Must meet all requirements of Senior Engineer II
Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering discipline
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplines
Job Skills :
Posses expert level skills that are specific to engineering discipline and that allows for feedback and influence into various engineering disciplinesOverall bearing manufacturing systems and organizational knowledge, including Quality and Engineering systemsAble to work independently with little to no supervision and achieve required resultsDemonstrated expertise with skills in software applicable to engineering disciplineDemonstrated expertise at blueprint reading, engineering drawing interpretation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office suiteDemonstrated expertise in troubleshooting skills in engineering disciplineHighly self-motivated with demonstrated problem solving skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writingStrong attention to detailHigh proficiency with applicable standard procedures & instructionsStay current with technological advancements in engineering disciplineDemonstrated expertise in Statistical analysisDemonstrated expertise in Project management skillsDemonstrated expertise in Capital justificationDemonstrated expertise in Process troubleshootingDemonstrated expertise in Continuous ImprovementDemonstrated expertise in Data miningAbilities :

Note : Physical job requirements may include :
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations' facilities.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.May include prolonged periods of standing, bending and reaching - to work on machinery.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Able to travel as needed.Essential Functions :
Act as a technical liason in supporting critical projects within the organizationProvide direct contact and support with high visibility customers on technical issuesLead cross functional projects involving new and complex products, new product development, capital acquisition; provide technical expertise with Manufacturing and Quality initiativesAssist Supervisor and / or Manager on technical issues and / or in their absenceProvide technical expertise to department / organizationProvide day to day support in engineering disciplineLead projects to conclusion including capital appropriation, continuous and / or process improvement, automation,Assist with training and mentoring of new engineersDatabase maintenanceUpdate documentsData miningBe part of the Material Review Board and be able to review non conforming parts and disposition acceptance or rework criteriaBe able to document and create procedure for operations, processes, etc.Assist in maintaining standard procedures & instructions in support of manufacturing needsTroubleshoot issues as they arise; collaborate with other disciplines as needed to implement improvementsDisclaimer :
