Accounting Lead

The primary function of the Accounting Lead is to analyze and process complex accounting transactions, as well as maintain exception reporting and daily metrics. They will assist with managing day-to-day activities in the accounting department. They will act as a Subject Matter Expert for the rest of the team for questions, queries, and resolutions.

Core Duties

Supports Supervisor to identify and resolve root causes on any gaps in accounting processes

  • Monitor and prioritize the daily data entry inflow
  • Periodically review, track, and report the task performance
  • Learn multi-tiered GL structure to accurately code expenses to proper department and GL account(s)
  • Obtain W9s for new vendors and ensure approvals before processing payment
  • Involvement with the month, quarter, and year-end closings
  • Process transactions and perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of account
  • Perform other duties as required and / or assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years accounting experience
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision; comfortable solving daily problems and bringing resolution without additional guidance needed
  • Excellent Verbal & Written communication skills
  • Strict attention detail, highly organized and efficient
  • Positive attitude and ability to re-prioritize tasks quickly
  • Analytical and strong proven problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to work and excel in a team environment
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity, and a general willingness to tackle projects that may be outside of candidate's comfort zone
  • Desire to work in an evolving environment; must be willing to embrace change quickly
  • Commitment to professionalism in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and management
  • Proven ability to maintain good work habits, punctuality, and regular attendance
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • In office full time at the San Antonio, TX HQ
  • Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, Concur, MS Office Suite (Excel) highly preferred
  • International experience or multi-company preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish, French, German, or Dutch is highly desirable but not required
