Manager, Mechanical Engineering

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a talented team in the development, production, and sustainment of ground-based antennas, mobile antennas, and aerospace battery and charger product lines. This role requires technical leadership, hands-on design expertise, and active participation across proposals, analysis, testing, and production while mentoring and managing an experienced engineering team.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, setting priorities and managing daily operations
  • Determine staffing requirements and ensure appropriate coverage for all projects
  • Guide teams through requirements definition, project planning, design reviews, and production releases
  • Collaborate with business development, proposals, design, test, manufacturing, quality, and customer service teams
  • Support all aspects of product lines, including concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design optimization, and mechanical analysis
  • Identify material and capital acquisition needs and manage procurement
  • Implement new systems and processes for continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with department standards, policies, and technical documentation
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor s Degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with 7+ years of experience; or 13+ years of experience without a degree
  • Proven experience mentoring and managing engineers
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (PTC Creo and / or Solidworks preferred)
  • Experience with PLM software (Windchill preferred)
  • Strong 3D visualization, drafting skills, and knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T
  • Experience with structural analysis and FEA (Ansys experience preferred)
  • Design for Manufacturing, machining, and fabrication experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
  • Ability to obtain security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
