JOB SUMMARY :
The Associate Therapist will offer individual, couples, family, or group therapy on-site. Services may include evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness and other psychological issues. The position requires direct contact with clients, detailed and timely medical charting, and accurate diagnosis.
DUTIES : Direct Treatment :
Conducts psychological evaluations.Provides individual, family, and group therapy and education in both outpatient and residential settings.Provides psychological assessments, assigns treatment, and makes appropriate referrals.May manage an assigned caseload, following the treatment and progress of each client.May collect UA samples from clients of their own gender.Assures all license and certification requirements are current.Reports directly to the Clinical Director.Documentation and Reporting :
Maintains accurate and timely documentation on all client files.Provides and responds to correspondence relevant to clients.Performs special assignments as assigned by the Regional Vice President and Clinical Director.Communication / Problem Solving :
Participates in weekly case consultation with the clinical team.Participates in weekly staff meeting involving business, case presentation and consultation, training, and in-service.Provides support in the orientation and training of therapy interns.Conducts treatment evaluations and develops treatment plans, updating them as needed.Maintains and enforces all program policies.Treats clients and prospective clients with professionalism and courtesy always.Works effectively with front office staff, communicating schedule changes and other vital information.Responds to crisis and informational calls from the community at assigned times or as needed.Time & Accountability :
Maintains good attendance and punctuality.Follows through on activities and responsibilities in a timely manner.Manages time effectively.Demonstrates ability to function with multiple projects and multiple deadlines while responding to crisis situations.Other Duties as assigned by agency leadership.SKILLS & POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
Able to Read, Write, and Speak English fluently (Bilingual is preferred).Valid licensure or certification as a Registered Associate Therapist (AMFT, ASW, Psy.D.)MA Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work and MFT or Clinical Psychologist credential – licensed in the State of California.Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in Substance Abuse Recovery.Master’s Degree in mental health is required.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients and staff alike.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.Strong organizational and planning skills to complete tasks in a high-quality, accurate, and timely manner.Possess good written and oral communication skills.Ability to maintain productive work relationships with clients, employees, management, external agencies, and public.Positively represents the program / organization in the community.Establishes and maintains good boundaries with clients and staff as outlined in DAAC’s Code of Conduct.Ability to use effective judgment in therapeutic and crisis situations.Continually adding to knowledge in addiction, counseling, therapy, and team-building.Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts effectively.Ability to maintain your own psychological well-being.Ability to recognize and manage personal bias.Knowledge of evidence-based practices in substance abuse treatment.Familiarity with relevant regulations and accreditation standards.Consistently demonstrates initiative, conscientiousness, reliability, and adherence to ethical codes.Classify and code conditions, treatments, and diagnoses.Utilize specialized technology, such as recordkeeping software specific to the hospital or medical office.Familiarity with Microsoft 365, MS Office tools, and common technology tools and equipment.Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.Must meet all DMV and agency insurance clearances.Maintains current CPR and First Aid certification.Strong knowledge and protocol of HIPPA and client privacy.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
