Overview
As a Professional Engineer for Drainage at Horrocks, you will work on large, multi-discipline transportation projects while developing diverse skill sets.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform and direct hydrology and hydraulic design work for DOT projects (bridges, roadways, highways, freeways).
- Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
- Work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to complete projects.
- Interface with state and local agencies and coordinate meetings with project stakeholders.
- Assist in proposal preparation including oral presentations.
- Prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projects and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering.Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.4–10 years of hydraulic design experience including roadway drainage, flood control, erosion control, and stormwater treatment facilities.Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), ORD Drainage and Utilities, StormCAD, PondPack, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, etc.Strong knowledge of DOT, AASHTO, and FHWA highway drainage design criteria.Proven communication, client interaction, and team collaboration skills.Ability to manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines and budgets.Preferred : Experience and relationships with transportation and flood control agencies.Benefits
