American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position with night shifts and strong intermediate care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Medical / Surgical Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1 : 5Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15Care for a diverse patient population including stroke, heart failure, respiratory failure, post-surgical, and renal failure casesRegular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities based on staffing needsEpic is used for charting and EMR documentationRequired to work 8 weekend shifts during each 6-week schedule periodHoliday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be assigned as neededResponsibilities include caring for a variety of medical and surgical patients requiring telemetry and higher level monitoringFrequent interactions with Rapid Response Teams and emergency management protocols are expectedParticipate in care of patients with diagnoses including SI, ETOH withdrawal, COVID, flu, Cdiff, TIA, falls, and GIBOrientation includes pre-start modules and facility-specific online training, with additional modules completed during orientationNo on-call requirementsA maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is permittedDrug screening and compliance labs must be completed promptly as part of pre-employment requirementsNo travel partners are accepted for this assignmentFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent specialty experience, including at least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past yearCertifications required : BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferredLTAC experience requiredProficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation / management, rapid response, and central / PICC line managementDemonstrated skills in pre / post hemodialysis management, feeding tube care, and wound care including wound vac useAbility to manage cardiac drips (no titration), heparin protocols, and high-flow oxygen therapiesExperience in Epic EMR preferredTwo professional references required, one must be at a supervisor level or above from within the past yearCandidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted\n Benefits\n
