Job Description

The Station Bill Crane Operator will be responsible for operating different types of cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. This position requires extensive knowledge of the equipment's capabilities, safety protocols, and the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions to ensure the safe and efficient movement of fuel and heavy equipment. The Station Bill Crane Operator will attain and maintain unique qualifications as an NRF Crane Operator. General qualifications may include : Radiation Worker, Lockout-Tagout, Fall Protection, Man-Lift Operator, Department of Transportation physical requirements, and any other radiological, environmental and safety qualification deemed necessary. Physical demands of this position include : able to bend, stoop, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and wear fall protection equipment. Employees will be required to work rotating shifts and overtime as necessary to support mission needs.

Essential Duties :

• Safely conduct weight handling operations, this includes, but not limited to, weight handling evolutions, utilizing overhead cranes, gantry cranes, and mobile cranes.
• Conduct daily inspections of the crane and related equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any issues to the Supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents. Monitor work site conditions continually for potential hazards.
• Coordinate with other workers on-site using hand signals, radio, verbal, or other effective methods to ensure clear communication during lifting operations.
• Maintain logs of operations, maintenance, and any incidents to comply with regulations, and Company policies and requirements.
• Stay updated with ongoing training and qualifications required by the industry and Company standard, including radiological systems and equipment.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

High school diploma or GED and 3 years of heavy equipment operations experience.

Preferred Skills

Proven experience as a crane operator.

Familiarity with hydraulic, lattice boom, overhead cranes or other types of cranes.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range

$33.16 hourly

Jobs categorized as subject to a collective bargaining agreement will adhere to the pay rates, wage increases, progression schedules, and other parameters identified and negotiated in said agreements. Wages and other compensation details are subject to change based negotiated changes to the collective bargaining agreements.
