Advanced Practice Provider - Poinciana, FL. This is a 4 day per week position located in Poinciana, FL. The role involves assisting in the care and treatment of patients as delegated by a physician at Hughston.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist in the care and treatment of patients as delegated by a physician.
• Promote and maintain patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
• Obtain a detailed patient history and record appropriate findings in the patient records.
• Complete a systematic and thorough physical examination. Make diagnoses concerning a patient's injury or illness. Provide treatments such as setting broken bones.
• Prescribe medicine when needed. Perform salutary procedures by administering injections and managing wounds and infections.
• Order, perform, interpret and schedule diagnostic studies when appropriate.
• Provide counseling on health habits, exercise, tobacco use and alcohol use.
• Provide instruction on supervising physician's orders including diet, physical therapy, and use of physical adjuncts to therapy.
• Assist supervising physician in the management of hospitalized patients (with concurrent hospital approval for such a role), including : checking clinical status, explaining tests or therapy, reporting progress, checking study reports, assisting in documentation of care, transferring hospital data to office records when appropriate, arranging for post-hospitalization follow-up care, assisting in surgery, and making rounds when appropriate.
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Ensure understanding and compliance with current laws, rules and regulations governing physician assistant (P.A.) or nurse practitioner (NP) practice in the state.

Location and Schedule

Poinciana, FL — 4 days per week.
