Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current NY license and BLS certification for an 8-hour day shift assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
  • Shifts are 8-hour days, 5 days per week
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage required with a 30 minute response time
  • 13-week contract
  • May be required to assume charge nurse responsibilities
  • Must function effectively in stressful situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are necessary
  • No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius

    • Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Minimum one year of medical / surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias
  • Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
  • Must be able to assess and implement safe patient movement using lifts
  • Proficiency with OR clinical equipment and instrumentation
