Job Title : Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on trailers and heavy equipment within a scrap yard environment. This role involves working with a variety of machinery including forklifts, front end loaders, and cranes. The ideal candidate will be adept at both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and will execute preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform upkeep and repairs on trailers and heavy equipment.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting using prints or schematics.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as greasing, oil changes, filter changes, and brake repairs.
• Maintain hydraulic systems, air pumps, and valves.
• Conduct mechanic repairs on tractor trailers and heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and repair air leaks and valves.
• Perform heavy welding on large metal and steel structures.
• Service skid steers, material handlers, forklifts, and front end loaders.
• Keep the work area clean and notify supervisors of needed repairs.
• Operate equipment on the pad to ensure functionality.
• Comply with site policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Engage in continuous physical tasks, such as bending, lifting, and climbing.

Pay / Shift : $28-$35

1st Shift

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00 / yr.

Benefits make up 3-4 dollars per hour

o HRA (covers all but $300 / 600 + 20% of deductible) – eligible 1st day

o Dental Insurance – eligible 1st day

o Vision Insurance – eligible 1st day
