The University CORE Curriculum at Seton Hall is seeking adjuncts (part time, non-tenure-track) for the Academic Year 2023-2024 to teach one or two sections of our Signature Core I and Core II courses. The courses are Journey of Transformation (Core I) and Christianity and Culture in Dialogue (Core II), and they are required for all Freshmen and Sophomores students. The courses consider the relationship between the Catholic intellectual tradition and other religions and cultures, particularly in terms of how they answer the big questions of life common to us all. Texts from the Christian tradition are studied along with texts from non-Christian traditions to demonstrate direct connections across other religions and cultures.
Duties And Responsibilities
These courses are taught with an approach based on principles of dialogue with an eye to fostering a sense of community. The students are required to submit writing, both formal and informal, and to think critically.
Required Qualifications
Master of Arts in Theology and / or Master of Divinity or other relevant area.
Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. in humanities, social sciences, philosophy, or theology or related field preferred.
Salary Range
Minimum pay is $1200 per credit for those without a terminal degree and $1300 per credit for those with a terminal degree
