Grid Systems Project Manager / Solution Architect

Location : Charlotte, NC

Employment Type : Permanent, Full-Time

Our client is seeking an experienced Grid Systems Project Manager / Solution Architect to lead utility grid operations modernization initiatives for electric utility clients. This role is part of the Enterprise Systems & Integration team, delivering high-value consulting services across technologies such as SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, and DERMS. The ideal candidate will bring deep electric utility domain expertise, strong project execution skills, and the ability to guide strategic technology decisions aligned with long-term business goals.

Focus Areas

Grid automation and modernization programs
SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, DERMS implementation and support
Technology roadmaps, software upgrades, and enterprise integration
Field support, commissioning, and testing of grid systems

Key Responsibilities

Architect and implement grid operations solutions (SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, DERMS)

Lead commissioning, testing, and field data verification (e.g., FLISR, VVO, DER Dispatch)

Manage project planning, budgeting, and execution

Oversee quality assurance and compliance with safety protocols

Act as solution architect across application and technical architecture teams

Design business processes and integration strategies

Provide executive-level reporting and stakeholder coordination

Support Agile and Waterfall project methodologies

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field

8+ years of enterprise / operations architecture experience

5+ years with GE e-terra ADMS and 3+ years with GE e-terra OMS

Strong experience with OMS, DMS, ADMS, AMI, DER, and Distribution Automation

Expertise in enterprise architecture (data, cloud, middleware, communications)

Proven leadership in large-scale transformation projects

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Experience with executive-level technology assessments and roadmaps

Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
