The Marine Coordinator provides technical and operational support to the DP Governance group, ensuring safe and efficient dynamic positioning (DP) operations across the fleet. They analyze vessel data, compliance documentation, and incident reports to uphold regulatory and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves collaboration with vessel crews, technical teams, and various departments to maintain operational integrity and implement governance policies.

Provides technical and operational support to the DP Governance group from a shoreside position. Works under the direction of the DP Governance Manager to assist in the oversight and coordination of daily activities related to dynamic positioning (DP) systems and associated mechanical, and DP control systems.

Provide operational support through the review and analysis of vessel data, and compliance documentation to ensure dynamic positioning (DP) operations meet the highest standards of efficiency and regulatory compliance. Assists in supporting the implementation of operational improvements across the fleet.

Plays a key role in promoting and upholding safety and environmental compliance by supporting audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborates with vessel crews and technical teams to ensure alignment with company policies and industry best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering from a recognized Maritime University, preferably with hands on experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Unlimited tonnage / HP Engineer license holder and experience onboard DP Vessels as 2nd or 3rd Engineer preferred.
  • Knowledge of Class Society requirements as they relate to Marine Systems (DNV, ABS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with FMEA concepts and their inter-relationship with operational, Class and Flag requirements.
  • Familiarity with DP industry groups (IMCA, MTS, DNVGL, etc) and their roll in DP operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Power Generation, Power Distribution and Power Management Systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of Marine Power Electronics Systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of Marine DP, Control System Interfaces, and Marine Electronics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications.
  • Familiarity with actual rig or marine offshore operations.
  • Innovative and a proven problem solver.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willing to travel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support Operational Integrity - DP Governance Group's task of ensuring safe DP Operations across our DP MODU fleet.
  • Provide assistance via phone, internet, web-based applications to assist fleet for DP Operations. until the support team arrives on site or the issue is resolved.
  • Provide input to planning, organizing and scheduling of Operational DP governance items.
  • Liaise with Asset Integrity Dept. and analyze maintenance, operational, and DP incident reports to determine causes of nonconformity and support path forward resolution.
  • Compile, store and maintain for retrieval, operational data and information.
  • Review alerts and bulletins, prepare recommendations for the fleet; assist with the distribution across the fleet.
  • Assist with operational guidance through review of industry papers, drawings and documentation.
  • Interface with all departments in the performance of job functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
