Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting. This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI).
This position is primarily to work on a high-profile web application project within the Child Care and Child Welfare (CCCW) section of DCF. The projects are underway and include .NET MVC and .NET 8 web applications with some use of JavaScript, Blazor, and Kendo UI components, and the candidate will be joining an existing team. The project is 99% modernized off of legacy mainframe applications to web applications using ASP.NET MVC with C#, WebAPI, n-tier architecture and SQL Server. This developer will work on other projects as needed.
The person in this position will work closely with the team in designing and developing the front end and server side of the web application. Project duties include requirements analysis, design, front-end and back-end web application development, testing, participation in interactive code reviews, and development using JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC with C#, with SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle databases. Expectations for this position are development of quality code using TDD, participation in active code reviews, sharing expertise, respectful communication, transparency, technical documentation, and the ability to perform production support.
Preference will be given for familiarity with automated testing methodologies, GitLab or Jenkins or other continuous integration platforms and solid coding experience using TDD.
Knowledge of DCF programs, prior experience with the Wisconsin CARES system and familiarity with State of Wisconsin application systems, procedures, and development standards is highly preferred and familiarity with DCF Child Care applications is a plus.

Qualifications :
The senior level .NET Web Developer designs, develops, and implements web-based applications using .NET framework to support business requirements. Includes the use of related development technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, .NET CORE and supported programming languages (e.g. C#, C++, bootstrap) and scripting languages (e.g. TypeScript, JavaScript). Performs development of front-end and back-end development of web applications and web API's (webservices). Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates documentation, and performs application coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Requires a bachelor's or associates degree in area of specialty or 6+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Can perform with no direct supervision, code is reviewed by team. Reviews junior developer's code.
