Description :

This is a position in a Level III NICU.

The unit has 8 NICU beds, with overflow patients going to postpartum.

The nurse-patient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 4, depending on acuity.

Common patient diagnoses include those 30 weeks and above.

The RNs are responsible for titrating drips, including Ampicillin, Gentamicin, Caffeine, TPN, and Lipids.

A charge nurse is assigned to each shift, but they also have patient assignments.

There is one OB tech for the entire floor, along with PRN nurse aides assisting as needed.

RNs are required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including nasal cannula and vents.

Shifts are scheduled from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700.

Every other weekend is required, and holiday scheduling is dependent on need.

RNs will float to postpartum when necessary.

Successful candidates will possess excellent communication and critical thinking abilities.
