This job is 100% on-site in Columbia, SC.

Our direct client has an opening for a SQL Developer 10913-1.

This position is up to 12 months, with the option of extension, and is in  Columbia, SC Corp to Corps are NOT allowed for this client.

General Information

Job Description :

  • Scope of the project : re-development and integration of multiple database systems serving interfacing between the agency personnel information system, cloud-hosted enterprise asset management system, and various internal systems and applications.
  • The primary focus will be to develop queries, procedures, and functions within the database interfacing with the state ERP system and SCDOT systems and applications.
  • The secondary focus will be establishing the foundation for a data warehouse.
  • The position is on-site.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Design stable, reliable, and effective databases.
  • Modify databases according to requests, follow industry standards, and best practices, and use common practices and techniques.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation and design diagrams, ensure database programs meet agency and performance requirements, research and provide recommendations for database design and feature implementation.

    • REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE) :

  • Proven skills as a database developer and knowledge of software development.
  • Hands-on experience with MSSQL documentation development.
  • Preferred skills (rank in order of importance : ) in-depth understanding of data management, database design, integration, and data warehouse design.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and techniques.
  • Ability to understand requirements and a problem-solving attitude.

    • REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS :

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience in the field.

    • PREFERRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS :

  • MICROSOFT CERTIFIED SOLUTIONS ASSOCIATE (MCSA)
  • MICROSOFT CERTIFIED SOLUTIONS EXPERT (MCSE)
  • MS SQL Yes 1 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • Performance Tuning Yes 4 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • Relational Database Experience Yes 1 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • Report and Dashboard development Yes 1 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • SQL Server Yes 1 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • SSMS Yes 1 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • SQL Tuning Yes 1 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • Interpret business process and business data models Yes 1 Advanced Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
  • Specialties Data Warehousing Yes 1 Intermediate Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years
