Buyer - The Woodlands, TX

Soltex is looking for a Buyer to join our Procurement team. In this role, you'll manage vendor accounts, coordinate domestic and international logistics, and ensure our supply chain runs smoothly from order to delivery. What You'll Do

Build and manage vendor relationships while identifying and qualifying new suppliers.

Coordinate with Business Unit Managers and Production to maintain inventory at appropriate levels.

Enter, track, and manage purchase orders in the Chempax ERP system.

Oversee freight and shipping logistics, including domestic and international shipments; negotiate freight rates and ensure timely deliveries.

Resolve invoice discrepancies, shipping errors, and product quality issues to maintain supplier performance and customer satisfaction.

Provide cost trend updates, purchasing analysis, and market reports to leadership.

Maintain supplier files, compliance documents, Certificates of Analysis, MSDS / TDS, and certifications in line with company and regulatory standards.

Support process improvements and recommend best practices within procurement and logistics operations.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

2-3 years' experience as a Buyer (chemical industry experience strongly preferred).

Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis.

ERP system knowledge; experience with Chempax a plus.

Familiarity with international shipping and logistics.

Hazmat / TDG certification or Certified Purchasing Professional designation preferred.
