About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required.

Traveler experience is required unless traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience.

License :

NC or Compact license required at time of start.

Certifications : BLS & ACLS

NIHSS

Must-Have :

Cardiac Telemetry experience.

PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown experience.

Sheath removal skills.

Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

Post-myocardial infarction (MI) care.

Pre / Post cardiac catheterization management.

Management of cardiac drips (no titration).

Ability to titrate cardiac drips.

Chest tube management (Emerson / Pleuravac).

External CPAP / BIPAP knowledge.

Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management skills.

Description :

RTO after booking is not allowed.

RTO may not be worked out onsite.

Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could result in a cancellation.

Ratios vary per acuity.

Ratios are 1 : 4 for surgical step-down and 1 : 5-6 for lower acuity.

Candidates must be comfortable floating based on job description with no restrictions or special requests.

Four weekend shifts required per four-week period (flexible).

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

No RTO allowed during the first week of a traveler's assignment.

Daily census is approximately 41 patients.

The patient age group includes adults and geriatrics.

The unit conducts various cardiac and thoracic procedures.

Candidates will work with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and pharmacy.

Special equipment used includes EKGs, chest tubes, and bladder scanners.

Documentation and medication systems utilized are Epic and Pyxis.

Candidates will need to complete EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.

All candidates will be interviewed.
