Franklin Woods Center is beautifully set on 10 partially wooded landscaped acres in a suburban residential area of eastern Baltimore County, Maryland. The facility provides short-stay rehabilitation and long-term care, as well as hospice and respite care. Our commitment to quality care was nationally recognized by US News and World Report in 2024 where we were named a Best Nursing Home Long-Term Care. Join our winning team as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant Specialist where you will perform various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents. In addition, the Geriatric Nursing Assistant Specialist assists professional nursing staff by performing in a leadership role for the CNA staff and performing assigned routine duties in caring for residents. He / she is supervised by a professionally trained nurse.

Position Highlights :

• Handles and serves residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, adhering to instructions issued by the nursing supervisor and or charge nurse to establish shift routines.
• Assumes responsibility for varied resident care duties as assigned by charge nurse to include admitting, discharging, transferring and caring for the resident's personal belongings and assisting the professional nurse in performing resident treatments.
• Bathe the resident in bed, tub or shower; comb hair, clean and cut fingernails and shampoo hair.
• Positions residents in correct body alignment in and out of bed and applies safety measures under the direction of the charge nurse. Assists the residents in and out of bed, in walking and transporting residents throughout the nursing center via wheelchair, geri-chair or stretcher.
