Position Summary :

Alma College Dining, operated by Metz Culinary Management, is seeking a professional Catering Captain to lead on-site execution of campus and external events. This position supports the Catering Manager and Executive Chef, ensuring every event — from formal dinners to receptions — is executed with precision, professionalism, and hospitality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, guest-focused, and experienced in managing service teams in a high-volume, high-standard environment.

Responsibilities :

• Lead event setup, service flow, and breakdown according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Supervise and direct catering service staff to maintain Metz hospitality standards.
• Serve as on-site point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain professional presentation of service areas, tablescapes, and displays.
• Coordinate closely with culinary, facilities, and campus partners to ensure smooth event execution.
• Assist with staff training, scheduling, and on-the-job coaching to reinforce service standards.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, and safety guidelines.

Metz Culinary Management is growing and seeking a Rock Star Catering Supervisor. This is a great opportunity to show off your hospitality and attention to detail in a busy and creative department. This role is all encompassing, assisting with Business Development, Operations and Guest Relations. You will be part of an amazing team ensuring the coordination of a polished process resulting in beautiful presentations of food and displays while ensuring Guest experience is second to none.

Our catering events range from small casual business lunches to amazing and extravagant black tie events. Our Catering Supervisor will oversee the Operations and Staff Management with responsibilities to include assembly and setup of all catering functions, servicing, employee training development, and Sales and Pricing. Must be able to read, write, use simple math, follow and give oral and written instructions. Ability to work quickly with hands and stand for long periods of time is essential.

Responsibilities :

Supervising the Catering Staff in Prep, Assembly and Setup of functions

Assisting with Sales and Business Development

Assist with efficient operations

Ensure Guest experience and satisfaction

Office systems and equipment
