The Director of Talent and Development will serve as a strategic leader within our People & Culture team who champions our "draft, develop, & retain" philosophy by designing and executing comprehensive talent development strategies. This role will report to the Vice President of People & Culture and oversee recruitment support, leadership development programming, skills-based training initiatives, and engagement experiences.
Draft | Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Lead talent acquisition team in designing and executing recruitment strategies that attract top talent aligned with organizational values and growth objectives
- Partner with leadership to forecast talent needs and develop proactive sourcing strategies for critical roles
- Enhance employer brand and candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle
- Analyze recruitment metrics to optimize hiring processes and improve time-to-fill and quality-of-hire
- Design and implement leadership development programs aligned with organizational goals creating differentiated programming for emerging leaders, mid-level managers, and senior executives
- Develop and execute organization-wide learning strategy encompassing soft skills, technical competencies, and career development
- Manage all mandatory training & programming, ensuring compliance while maximizing engagement
- Partner with department leaders to assess development needs and design targeted solutions that drive performance
Retain | Engagement & Recognition
Design and execute comprehensive engagement strategies that foster connection and commitment across all organizational levelsCreate and manage recognition programs that celebrate both individual achievements and team accomplishments, reinforcing organizational values and desired behaviorsLead employee feedback mechanisms (surveys, focus groups, listening sessions) and translate insights into actionable initiativesDevelop data-driven retention strategies based on engagement data, exit interviews, and workforce analyticsStrategic Partnership & Impact Measurement
Provide recommendations to leadership on talent acquisition, development, and retention best practicesIntegrate talent strategies with broader People & Culture initiatives including performance management, succession planning, and organizational developmentEstablish metrics and analytics framework to measure program effectivenessMonitor industry trends and benchmark against best practices to continuously evolve talent strategyRequirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.Experience
7-10 years of progressive experience in talent development, learning & development, or organizational development3+ years of leadership experience managing teamsExperience in sports, entertainment, or similar high-performance culture preferredProven track record in strategic recruitment support and leadership development program designStrong understanding of recruitment best practices and employer branding strategyKnowledge of compliance training requirements and employment lawExcellent project management skills managing multiple complex initiativesExceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to influence at all organizational levelsStrong facilitation and coaching abilitiesExperience building cross-functional partnershipsAbility to translate business strategy into actionable talent development plansPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions
