Community School Coordinator

Overview

Community School Coordinator at ServingSchools. Grant Funded, one-year position based at Old Town Elementary School, RSU 34.

Location : Old Town Elementary School. Start Date : As soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Implement needs-driven, quality programs and services following the community school model and grant plan, including expanded learning and enrichment opportunities, parent / family engagement, family education, direct material assistance, and interventions targeted to chronically absent students.
• Partner with staff to examine student data and determine services or interventions to address student needs.
• Ensure the alignment and integration of all programming with the school's vision, curriculum, and grant plan.
• Coordinate needs and resource assessment activities on an ongoing basis.
• Facilitate a site-based Community School Advisory Team, composed of administrators, teachers, support services staff, partners, parents and others to identify needs, set priorities and coordinate the implementation plan.
• Support the evaluation of the community school by collecting data, timely submission of reports, and responses to information requests from initiative leadership at the school and state level.
• Participate in activities, including initiative-wide and site-based training, network meetings and study visits, and, with the principal, ensure the participation of other site-based staff as needed.
• Represent the initiative in community forums as needed.
• Other tasks as indicated by school administration.

Hours and Compensation

Hours : This role is expected to average 35 hours per week, typically mid-morning to late afternoon, with variations mutually developed with the candidate and the programming underway.

Compensation : Wage and benefits are structured similarly to RSU 34's Ed Tech III Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Required / Preferred : Bachelor's degree in applicable field preferred, and Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization, or steps taken to apply, required.
