Schedule : Rotating shifts, including weekends : 1st shift 6 : 00am - 2 : 00pm; 2nd shift 2 : 30pm - 11 : 00pm

Assignment length : 6 month contract rolling contract (no end date)

Job description

JH Careers is helping our client hire Remote Assistance Operators to provide continuous remote monitoring and real-time decision-making for autonomous vehicles under constant supervision.

This role is critical to ensuring fleet safety and reliability during the transition to fully driverless operations — without an onboard safety engineer.

The ideal candidate will have experience in technical support, dispatch, or operations, strong decision-making skills, and high attention to detail. This person will also have a basic understanding of autonomous vehicle systems or a strong willingness to learn.

As a Remote Assistance Operator, you'll :

• Actively monitor an assigned vehicle using the Remote Command (RC) interface and multiple camera feeds.
• Proactively intervene when necessary using system tools.
• Log all interventions and key observations in real time (Notion / Google Sheets).
• Conduct post-trip reviews and flag any anomalies.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions and contribute to the edge-case knowledge base.
• Track and report operational metrics.
• Ensure a clean shift handoff by communicating key context to the incoming Shift Lead.

Commitment :   This is a full-time, ongoing contract position. It will be onsite and available to candidates local to the Austin, TX area.
