About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 1 year experience in inpatient acute rehab

License : Active RN License required

Certifications : BLS required, Rehab certification is a plus, QIM experience preferred

Must-Have : Previous travel experience highly preferred

Description :

Drivers License is required for submission.

Unit is a rehab department with a total of 30 beds.

Nurse to patient ratios depend on patient acuity, ranging from 1 : 6-8.

Common diagnoses include post-operative patients from cardiovascular surgery, falls, knee surgeries, back surgeries, strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.

Some patients may be recovering from COVID-related conditions.

Nurses are not required to titrate drips.

Common titratable infusions include IV fluids, electrolytes, antibiotics, and blood products.

There is no continuous telemetry monitoring on this unit.

A Team Lead manages the unit during the day until 11 PM.

Charge nurses supervise nights, weekends, and holidays.

There are 2-3 nurse aides assigned to the unit depending on the census.

Nurse aides assist with activities of daily living and vital signs.

There is a shower tech responsible for patient showers.

Respiratory therapy equipment may include CPAP or BiPAP for patients who use these devices at home, with assistance from respiratory therapists for settings.

Staff schedules are built by the Team Lead or Manager with attempts to accommodate block scheduling while maintaining flexibility.

Weekend work is expected based on patient needs.

Holiday work is also expected when necessary.

Staff may be on standby in case of low census and pending admissions.

Floating to MedSurg may be required.

Scrub color for staff is Caribbean blue.

Orientation is provided with one shift spent with a preceptor.

The charting system used is EpicCare Inpatient - EMR.
