Laboratory Technical Specialist

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Laboratory Technical Specialist to join the Laboratory team!

Description :

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day technical operations of the applicable laboratory section, in accordance with the established hospital and department policies and standards. Will play a lead role in the strategic planning process and the implementation of initiatives focused on enhanced performance, work-flow redesign, and developing a culture that emphasizes excellence in the quality and delivery of laboratory services.

Requirements :

• Bachelors degree in Medical Technology / Laboratory Science or an appropriate biological, chemical, medical, or physical science from an accredited institution.
• Twelve (12) months of clinical laboratory education.
• National certification with ASCP or AMT is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years of training / experience in moderate complexity areas.
• Must have at least 4 years training / experience in high complexity testing for Microbiology and Blood Bank, with at least 6 months training / experience specifically in Bacteriology.

Hours :

This is a full-time, day shift position working 8-hour shifts. May be required to work other hours for the effective operation of the department.
